In this tutorial, I will show you the process I took to create this composition. Brush usage is the key part of this work. Here is final result:

Step 1

Open up photoshop create a new document. Bring up the grunge texture, re-size and position it. Also add a new brightness/contrast adjustment layer to this texture.

Step 2

Next we will continue with brush work. Download grunge edges and on the new layer start adding edges to our composition. Key factor is using different brush presents with variable sizes. You may apply  different colors or change blending modes if you want. However i like the way it is now.

Step 3

Download grunge lines and add some variation to our composition. I used white color and change blending mode of this layer to overlay.

Step 4

It’s time to add our model to composition. Mask out the unwanted parts of the photo and place her into our composition.

Step 5

Lets add some blood. Download blood brushes. This pack is my favorite blood pack. Again, try to use different brush presents and for best result change the blending mode of blood layer to multiply. I also mask out the blood on the hair part. Why i don’t know i just feel like it:D

Step 6

Lets add the star. Download Victorian grunge brushes and add the star in white color. Also we will add glow effect to this layer.

Step 7

Finally add a photo filter adjustment layer to all composition. And you are done.
