Assets

Step 1

Lets start with creating a new document from photoshop. Bring grunge texture to your newly created file re-size it and position it. I used light blue one and and play with curves. Don’t forget to use adjustment mask because we are going to use original texture again.

Step 2

Next duplicate grunge texture and set blending mode of this layer to multiply.

Step 3

Next open up the May Queen and mask out the background. I also erase some of her hair because i wanted to change her a little bit.

Step 7

I used my hair brushes to change her hair a little bit. Trick for hair is applying its in black color and duplicating it. If you want to add some highlights just paint over hair on a new layer a change this layers blending mode to overlay. Then i used star brushes with white color and decrease layer opacity to %90.

Step 8

I especially love this effect. We are going to add some glow effect to our composition.  It is pretty simple to do. Just pick a color, paint with a rounded soft brush  and set layer blending mode to overlay. Of course don’t forget to move your painted layer to back of your object. I picked yellow color for May Queen, dark blue for tree and a crimson red for apple. Here is what i get;

Step 9

We are almost finished. Lastly we will add a photo filter to warm our image a little bit.
